We've teamed up with multidisciplinary artist and fellow Chicagoan Cody Hudson on this limited edition iteration of our 2-Way Bandana. Inspired by the cycles of the natural world, each bandana is cut and sewn in the USA from a lightweight 4oz GOTS certified organic cotton muslin, screen-printed in Philadelphia using plant-derived organic indigo ink, and features a special collaborative organic cotton tag, making the item entirely compostable and biodegradable. 

The 2-Way Bandana also adds functionality and versatility beyond a standard bandana through a 3” locker loop that allows it to be quickly and easily “tied” or hung from a karabiner or loop for a variety of styling options.

The indigo extract for the screen-printing ink comes from a farm in South India that practices sustainable growing methods. After extraction, the wastewater and composted leaves are returned to the field to feed the next crop. Both the indigo and the ink are certified organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

Dyed naturally with plant-derived indigo in Chicago, IL. Naturally dyed items will show color and tonal variations, which are innate effects of the dye process. Some dyed items may transfer color during wear, in particular onto light colored fabrics and/or surfaces.

Because naturally dyed items are pH sensitive, we recommend washing them separately in cold water using a pH neutral soap, and carefully reading the ingredient lists on any natural personal care products that could interact with the dye. Stains created by alkaline substances tend to disappear after washing; acidic substances are more likely to create permanent stains. We suggest soaking an item with an acid stain in cold water as soon as possible.

Store naturally dyed items away from direct sunlight. Long term exposure to UV can darken and/or lighten a color, depending on the dye used.
